Stephan Colbert has announced his new Integrity Justice blog when he will post fake news in hope of having it make it in to the mainstream news by having tons of blogger agree with him. Sadly the site is not live yet. This seems to be the first time Colbert has told every one to go to a site that does not seem to exist.

Raph Koster, god of gaming, will be at SXSW. He hasn’t said what panels but I have a feeling they will be great.

Beginning January 23, 2007, US citizens need a passport if they’re traveling by air to/from Canada or Mexico. Next step to nation safety, state border check points. Yeay for freedom. (via Kottke)

In movies like Minority Report usability experts always laugh as people use 3D interfaces to use a computer. 3D interfaces don’t make sense they will say.

But as we start to make leaps in interface design we seem to be moving more toward gesturing to interface with applications.

The iPhone is a small example but this video shows a huge screen with an interface of only gestures (Video: you have to wait through a commercial). Is this just a technology demonstration or real world applications? I certainly can’t tell.

Song 3:Rapwing Lair pt1, Rapwing Lair pt2

Okay. This week is special. I am not really a rap fan. I have nothing against it. Just not my cup of tea. This song might not be the best rap song ever but I think it’s worth listening to for educational value alone.

Rapwing Lair is an extensive “rhythmic project,” as described by Connery, to detail how one defeats every single boss in Blackwing Lair in World of Warcraft while mixing disparate styles of hip hop.

It’s really amazing to hear the different styles of rap. What makes the styles more clear to listen to is that the content is so different from mainstream rap that it’s easier to focus on the rhyme and rhythm.

The Styles include:

Underground Hardcore
Tupac Shakur Impersonation
Dirty South – West Coast
East Coast – New School
Underground Hardcore
Snoop Dogg Impersonation
Jurassic 5 Impersonation
NYC Gangsta-ish

New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tailer out. I have some high hopes for this movie and I everything I have seen seems to support this. I look forward to this movie coming out.

Steve jobs and the iphoneWhile Apple is busy “revolutionizing” the cell phone Japan is busy laughing at us. It’s sad that America is so far behind in technology.

I can only imagine how much we would make fun of a country if they started talking about this great invention called Cable TV that will revolutionize TV in their country.

The worst part is if you look at every way America is behind on technology it’s alway because of politics. Cellphones, internet speeds, and music and entertainment industries are all so far behind in America simply because we’ve enacted so many laws to protect those industries.

Why do we let the government coddle these industries?

Song 2: Time You Have Been Wasting (MP3)
This will be my first entry in the female lead singer category. And it will not be my last. The Salteens also have a male vocalist that helps add alot of texture. I feel that bands that use both a male and female vocalist can do more then other bands can. Not only is this a solid power pop band but they are also straight out of Canada where so mush great music hides with out making it’s way in to the USA.

Live action Avatar: The Last Airbender movie coming to big screens. M. Night Shyamalan is at the helm as writer, directer and producer. I suppose it could be good but really why live action? I can’t say I’m too hopeful.

Election PosterElection is a wonderfully odd movie with Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon and Directed by Alexander Payne who also directed such great movies as Sideways and About Schmidt.

This DVD Commentary is really about Alexander Payne’s directing and writing and directing process. Alexander is extremely well spoken and does a good job of mixing his commentary with out completely blotting out the movie in the background. I had not seen the movie in a long time and the way Alexander’s comments intermixed with the actual audio made it easy to remember what happened.

Very few commentaries are worth listening to but this is definitely worth it if you have any interest in either Election or how directors come to create their own voice.

In an effort to keep my self looking for new music I want to share an MP3 with you each week for the next year.

Song 1: We’re From Barcelona (MP3)
We’re From Barcelona from the band I’m From Barcelona is just such a fun song I can’t help from listening to it several times. They really do encompass a weird Indy Kitsch that come across really strongly in the music video below. I think only an Indy band can truly own these kind of postmodern jokes that would fall on deaf ears in the main stream.
