I love Diablo and FNL. Man I need to write about TV more.
Read it here. I’m so excited for them. It’s funny that basically anything they could have said would have come across as an insult to M. Night Shyamalan.
What did you guys think of the live-action version of “The Last Airbender”?
Konietzko: We’re just really focused on this new show right now, and kind of taking this off in its own direction and not concerning ourselves with that right now.
So you didn’t follow the casting controversy about the movie version of “The Last Airbender”?
Konietzko: We didn’t head up that film. We’re just happy to be back generating the original content in this mythology, which is what we do.
3D TVs. guess what? I don’t want one. The problem is people who make TVs need to come up with new ways to convince people to buy new TVs because that’s the only way they can make more money.
So I thought I would just throw up my 2 cents on what would make me want to buy a new TV. Do you know where the current action seems to be going on? Set top boxes. Cable Boxes, x-box, Roku. That’s the current battle ground. That’s where I get added value.
If I made TVs I would be pissed that people felt the need to add a box to my TVs. Why not just build that shit right in to the TV? That’s part of the reason I think GoogleTV is interesting. It will come installed on some TVs. With enough internet services all I need is a TV and Ethernet cord. Who knows what other software you could put on TVs. An apps market place? Inputs for game controllers? Camera for filming video or teleconferencing? What if the TV worked with TiVo to make Tivo even more awesome (even though I’m pissed at series 4 tivo)? I feel like TVs are in a good place to undercut a lot of these boxes that people put under their TVs (BTW with flat screen TVs set-top-box doesn’t even make sense any more).
And to be clear. I’m not buying a 3D TV. So build me something I would want to buy.
This is probably where Jim and Pam should have tried to meet between NYC and Scranton, PA. Right around East Stroudsburg.
Long long ago Terry Goodkind wrote the first book of a great fast paced fantasy series called the Sword of Truth that everyone loved. And then he wrote another one and another one. 11 books later it finally ended and I hate the entire series. 4 books in I was so invested in the main plot I could not stop reading but Terry gets trapped in his own political views and his monologues get longer and longer. Those 11 books could have easily been 4 or 5 books and have been a solid series.
Then it was optioned for a TV mini series which a year or two later seems to be turned in to a “syndicated adventure series”. Will the show be any good? No and here is why. The reason the “syndicated adventure series” Hercules worked was because it did not take it self seriously. It was jokey and lighthearted and made you forget how low budget everything was. If anything is made clear by this 10 minute intro to the show it is how seriously it takes it self. But slow motion and fancy graphics will not save it from taking it self painfully seriously. Sadly the fact that Terry Goodkind took himslef too seriously is the same reason his books went so far down hill.
The only way this show can be any good is if it has great writing and acting but that tends to be where these productions tend to skip so they afford the graphics they want to have.
It premiers Nov 1st and 2nd and I hope my eyes bleed less then when I watch TinMan.
I totally watched this when I was little. Fuck you people with cable. The real action was on network TV. Sadly unlike Duck Tales and Tiny Toons this show does not hold up as well. Who thought up this show? I think it could do with a nice reboot. I can’t decide if I want this on my wishlist or not. (via i09)
James Kotecki suggests we use government funds to bail out canceled TV shows like Freaks and Geeks and Arrested Development. I couldn’t agree more.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… you should be watching the Middleman
Wow there must be a mot of money behind this Wire ARG. Take that Joss Whedon and your buffy comic.
The plan is to have 9 new characters next season. Can they teach their writers to write new characters instead of haphazardly throwing them together and explaining their backstory in one liners? We’ll see as they are basicly writing to keep their jobs. A bad season and everyone is fired.
I plan on trying to document my TV viewing more.. mostly cause I’m starting to forget what the hell I’ve been watching.
I’m so happy that Iliza Shlesinger won last comic standing. Women comics have a bad rap and it goes to the core where a lot of comics don’t think women are funny either. Not only has she risen above the fray she won because she was picked on and got to preformed 2 amazing sets while every one else sat in the back room. Poor choice fellas.

P.S. Get a new host LCS. Really.
